London Borough Clubs clean up at the British Closed and at the Fighting Films Commonwealth Championships

Congratulations to all London Borough clubs (including clubs from British Judo’s London, Northern Home Counties and Southern Areas) at the British Closed Championships last weekend, and at the Commonwealth Championships this week.

The British Junior Closed Championships were held at EIS Sheffield on Saturday 21st of January.  Judoka proudly represented a number of London Borough clubs with the following juniors medalling:

Sat 21st British Junior Closed:

Hayley Willis (Stratford JC) Gold in the Women’s -48kg

Nekoda Davis (Ealing JC) Gold in the Women’s -57kg

Zair Karimov (Alpha JC) Bronze in the Men’s -60kg

William Johnson (Yoshin Ryu) Bronze in the Men’s -66kg

Ramone Alexander (Moberley JC) Silver in the Men’s -73kg

Jamal Petgrave (Westcroft JC) Bronze in the Men’s -81kg

Philip Awiti Alcaraz (Enfield JC) Gold in the Men’s -100kg

Peter Vincent (Westcroft JC) Silver in the Men’s -100kg


Sunday 22nd saw the Seniors take to the mat, with London clubs being equally well represented on the medal podium, as shown below:

This was first major club competition in this Olympic summer and, in the lead up to the games, was a great chance to see the stars of the present and future.
