Special Visit as Tsukuru Judo Academy Assist Police Project
Tsukuru Judo Academy played host to a special visitor on Tuesday in support of their brilliant work with the Community Police’s T.K.O. (Technique, Knowledge and Opportunity) Project. The project has been set up to get youngsters off the street and interested in various martial arts. Tsukuru JA proudly represented judo, with head coach Dave Quinn and instructor Chris Ronayne happily giving up free coaching time to get involved with the scheme.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, was invited to see the good work that was going on within the community and thank us all individually. True to his word, he paid a visit to Crook Log Leisure Centre to meet those involved. Carol Quinn, Tsukuru club secretary said “Boris was very interested in the project and spent a long time getting feedback from the parents and coaches. He didn’t think he could keep up with the pace but did wish them the very best of luck.” “The pace is all set to increase” said Dave, “as the Project has been so successful in the local Community there are whispers of future plans of expanding to other Boroughs”.
Three Tsukuru JA judoka, Brayden Quinn, Tom Fisher and Sam Fisher, were invited to attend, chatting to the Mayor, with Brayden giving a wholehearted demonstration of pressups which left the Mayor speechless. The Mayor wished Brayden the very best of luck with his National Squad training sessions and said that he was excited about the progress of the project and our Club saying that he thought it was brilliant our young players were achieving competition results with such a new Club.

Tsukuru Judo Academy is now organising its first open squad training sessions, information to follow soon on the webstite, www.TsukuruJudo.com and Dave is also opening a new class in Bexleyheath (www.Tsukurujudo.com/bexleyheath.htm )
